This week has been pretty much the same as last week. Dealing with some sickness towards the end of the day and struggling through the fog of baby-brain to try to accomplish at least one thing a day. Even if that one thing is making dinner for my hubby. :)
We were able to see my family over the weekend for my mom’s and sister Brianna’s birthday. It was nice to sit when I was tired and still be able to conversate about fun topics, and to eat without having to wrack my brain for food ideas. I didn’t once find myself in a place where I was in need of food with no thoughts as to what to eat. My mommy is awesome.
Also while home I got “the handshake” from Uncle Al. He says it’s going to be a boy. My sisters and a few others in the family are hoping for a girl, so this was the cause of some discussion. I would be over-the-moon happy with either one, but it definitely has sparked my curiosity even more and now I can’t wait to find out what we’re having!!! We still have almost 5 weeks before we have our ultra-sound and we are planning a gender reveal with the family mid-May so that means 7 weeks until it’s public news. This is such an exciting time! To feel so much going on in my belly and to be anticipating the milestones like feeling movement and knowing the gender. And more nerdy things to me, like the development of hearing.
My whole life I’ve believed there’s something to the theories that classical music effects development and brain activity and such. Because of this, I determined long ago that I would listen to nothing but a constant stream of classical music from the moment I learned I was pregnant. So far this hasn’t happened. I have instead been listening to “fun.” and dance music and my usual bluesy mix of favorites. Now that the hearing is developing from inside the womb, I feel that I should really “get on that.” Haha. It’s not really a problem, because I love classical music, but it doesn’t always pump me up for the work I have to do the way some other genres can.
Among the excitement, I am also finding myself overwhelmed by some things. In the same realm as my dedication to classical music, is my desire to research every little thing to determine the best way to do everything. This has added to my “daily to-do’s” a bit and I might be trying to bite off more than my weakened brain can chew. I just know that if I put off learning all the things I want to learn ahead of time I’ll regret it. I’ve been using Evernote to keep track of every little thing that occurs to me as I am in bed waiting for sleep to over-take me. So far I’ve researched the movement against crib bumpers, cute ways to reveal the gender, adorable nurseries, creative ways to document the pregnancy journey, the best maternity bras (Ugh, to me they all suck), and several recipes for chicken salad. Unfortunately, the somewhat more important topics relating to development and vitamins and classes and exercise have been neglected. As well as planning more of my pregnancy journal/book. Week 14 is looking good, but this weeks is still un-illustrated.
I think that’s quite enough rambling for this week. Here is my bump photo for week fifteen:
Baby’s Size | Apple. I am going with “Granny Smith,” just for fun.
How far along | 15 weeks
Sleep | Same as last week but having a little more trouble getting back to sleep when I have to get up in the middle of the night. I blame the phlegm and nausea from hunger if I am awake more than a few minutes. I also had 2 baby dreams one night. In both it was a girl, haha. We’ll see!
Clothes | The usual. Might be making a trip to Old Navy soon to check out their long dresses.
Cravings | I don’t know if this counts as a craving, but yesterday I made a delish wrap I plan to share on my Tasty Tuesdays on my other blog. I actually had spinach in it! I wasn’t craving spinach, but it’s quite the accomplishment for me to even eat it. My hunger has been otherwise normal the last few days.
Food Aversions | Most foods, unfortunately. I have found that there are things that make me want to hurl, and things I can stand to eat. Lol.
Symptoms | Same as last week. During the day I especially notice the soreness in my belly as things stretch and grow and move around as well as pain in my hips and other joints. At night I am back to my yucky self.
Doctor’s Appointment | My next appointment is at 18 weeks!
Movement | Twice I could almost swear I felt little popcorns in my belly, but haven’t since then.
Belly Button | Innie.
Gender | THE BIG MYSTERY!!! :)
Best moment of the week | Getting to spend the weekend with my family in the country.
What I’m looking forward to | Feeling movement unmistakably and hoping for more energy and, farther in the future I am excited about the nesting phase. haha.
What I miss | This is also pretty much the same as last week, which makes it boring. I guess you could say I also miss feeling like a normal person sometimes.
I wish I would have done something like this when I was pregnant! =D So cute!
